Biography
With more than 26 years of experience serving public and private clients in the consumer products, office furniture, medical device and retail industries, Dave Hoogendoorn excels in a strategic approach to delivering client service and business development.

As Market Segment Leader, Michigan and Northwest Ohio, and Office Managing Partner, Grand Rapids, for Ernst & Young, Hoogendoorn is responsible for the market leadership and growth of the assurance, tax and advisory services as well as leadership related to the practice’s brand, people, quality and operational excellence in West Michigan. He serves on the Leadership Team of EY’s Family Business Center of Excellence.

As the coordinating partner of EY’s global services, Hoogendoorn’s client base has included Amway, Bissell, Gentex, Haworth, Herman Miller, Lear Corporation, Meijer, S. C. Johnson, Stryker, Universal Forest Products and Wolverine World Wide.

He has facilitated many complex acquisitions, divestitures, debt offerings, income tax and stock compensation matters for both public and privately held family owned businesses. In addition, he has assisted several management teams and boards in evaluating governance policies and compliance matters and is a sought-after speaker on these topics.

Active in the community, Hoogendoorn is treasurer of the executive committee for the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, Goodwill Industries, and the West Michigan Sports Commission. He serves on the finance committees of The Right Place and the Van Andel Arena/DeVos Place Convention Center. He is an advisory board member at the Grand Valley State University Seidman School of Business. He is a member of TALENT 2025 and a board member of Grace Adventures.
