Granddaughter of President Eisenhower Coming to Grand Rapids
In times of uncertainty each generation can benefit from looking to an earlier one for inspiration and hope.
The “Greatest Generation,” a term coined by Tom Brokaw, is one such generation that speaks to our times. They lived and came of age after the First World War. They survived the Great Depression and went on to fight and win World War II, only to remake America and the world in the decades that followed.
Susan Eisenhower will illuminate this generation, their leadership, and their era—and connect their experiences to the challenges we face today in our own turbulent times.
This Greatest Generation Celebration event is made possible with generous support from Meijer, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, Air Zoo, City of Grand Rapids, the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies, Oasis Senior Advisors, National Heritage Academies, Trillium Living, Trinity Health, Peter & Emajean Cook Foundation, Michigan Heroes Museum, University of Michigan Health, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Varnum Law, Wege Foundation, WZZM 13, WMXI Fox 17, Lake Michigan Credit Union, Hospice of Michigan, World Affairs Council, E3 Compliance, Clark Foundation, Klingman's, Studio Park, Amway Corporation, American Legion, A250, Applied Innovation, the Williams Family, the Stornant Family, and Mary Free Bed.
