Frontier to Freedom: A Michigan History Documentary Screening
Join WGVU Public Media and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation and Museum for a free public screening of Frontier to Freedom, a documentary unearthing the overlooked history of Michigan, tracing its evolution from a vast wilderness inhabited by Indigenous peoples in 1600 to its emergence as the 26th state in 1837. Through expert interviews, archival imagery, and stunning visuals, the film explores the region's history on the American frontier and the complex forces that shaped Michigan's path to statehood.
Producer Keith Patterson of Manitou Films will be in attendance and available to meet guests during a post-screening reception with light refreshments.
Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Program begins at 6 p.m. Event concludes at 7:15 p.m.
Free and open to the public. Content is not recommended for audiences under 16.
