In an effort to educate young people about the events surrounding September 11 and to honor those who gave their lives for our safely and liberty, students will create artwork that communicates the themes of heroism, patriotism, and sacrifice.
Themes for Ages 5 – 18
Ages 5-7: “Héros in my Community”
Ages 8-10: “What is an Active Citizen?”
Ages 11-14: “What Patriotism Means to Me”
Ages 15-18: “The Meaning of Sacrifice”
Guidelines
Posters should be created on paper sized 11”x17” or 18”x24”; students may use pencil, marker, crayon, paint, or collage but all entries must be in poster form (two-dimensional only).
Deadline
All entries must be post-marked by August 18, 2017. Submit entries to:

Prizes
One overall Grand Prize winner will receive a $100 cash prize, $50 D&W Fresh Market/Family Fare gift card, plus a one year family membership to the Gerald R. Ford Museum.
Three entries will be chosen from each age category. All top entries, plus the Grand Prize Winner will be on display during the Scout Salute and the Community Day of Rememberence held at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum on September 11, 2017.
The top three in each age category will receive:
1st Place – $75 cash prize, $25 gift card to D&W Fresh Market/Family Fare, plus a one year family membership to the Museum
2nd Place – $50 cash prize, $10 gift card to D&W Fresh Market/Family Fare
3rd Place – $25 cash prize, $10 gift card to D&W Fresh Market/Family Fare
