The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, Library, and Museum hosted the 2017 William E. Simon Lecture in Public Affairs and the 2017 COL Ralph W. Hauenstein Fellowship Presentation on July 13, 2017. The event was held at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. The Lecture was by former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Carla A. Hills, with the Fellowship presentation following her remarks. Hills is also a Trustee of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation. The event coincided with the 104th anniversary of the birth date of the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford. Ambassador Carla A. Hills William E. Simon Lecture in Public Affairs was titled “Why Trade Matters”. Hills also served as U.S. Trade Representative for President George H.W. Bush.
