Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation Executive Director, Joseph Calvaruso, and Director of Engagement & Programming, Clare Shubert, along with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum Deputy Director, Jim Kratsas, led a media tour on January 27, 2016 throughout the continued construction of the DeVos Learning Center and re-modeling of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. The Foundation and Museum continues with construction, as the goal of re-opening the Museum is set for June 7, 2016.

The Museum will increase its building capacity by 8,000 square feet, adding a two-story addition for the new DeVos Learning Center. State-of-the-art technology and improvements will be incorporated throughout the Museum, allowing the Museum to exhibit more artifacts and engage in a deeper conversation about the history of the Gerald R. Ford and Betty Ford, and their impact on our nation during extraordinary times.

The original Museum building and its features are also being re-modeled to provide a fresh experience for Museum visitors with a new look at the legacy of Gerald R. Ford by leveraging modern technology and exhibits techniques.

“The DeVos Learning Center’s goal is to inspire students to make value and principle-based decisions in the tradition of President and Mrs. Ford,” added Joseph Calvaruso. “The learning center will present educational experiences to students that allow for increased awareness of civic engagement, both locally and globally.”
